American filmmaker Jason Allred is a versatile Producer, Director, Assistant Director and Production Manager known for such projects as: "Saints and Soldiers," "Saints and Soldiers: The Void," "127 Hours," "Don Verdean," and many others. He works under his own production company, BreakAway Entertainment, providing production services for film, television, and commercial work.

A career in film and television was not the original plan.
the initial plan was medicine. orthopaedics, to be precise, but upon returning from two years of volunteer service in germany, Allred found that the passion for medicine was gone, but the creativity that existed in his school days rose to the surface.
allred began working in television broadcst news as a video editor in 1998 and eventually left news behind in 2001 for a more narrative career. he already understood the power of visual storytelling, having been a published photographer, so making the leap to moving pictures from stills made sense.
